Ipoh building collapse kills two

IPOH, Oct 2 – Two men were killed while another was injured when an old building collapsed on their car in Jalan Kamaruddin Isa near Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here at 9.30 tonight.

Perak police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said the two victims killed were passengers of the car.

“The driver suffered serious injuries and was admitted to hospital,” he told reporters at the scene of the incident.

The identity of the two Malay men in the 20s had not been ascertained.

The drivers and passengers of three other cars escaped unhurt. Their cars were slightly damaged by falling fragments.

Zulkifli said police were investigating what caused the collapse and whether work to demolish to building was being done when the incident occurred. – Bernama
