PUTRAJAYA, Oct 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said today the special relationship between the government and the civil service has the been key to Malaysia’s progress.
Najib pointed out that the civil service has been integral in spearheading and implementing government policies.
“The government and civil service must work hand in hand to help achieve the country’s vision and today’s Aidilfitri open house is to show the government’s appreciation,” he said in his speech during the prime minister’s department (JPM) Aidilfitri celebration at De’Seri Endon Hall here.
Thousands visited the open house as early as 8am with buses ferrying government staff from their offices to the hall.
By noon, the hall was packed as dignitaries and members of the Cabinet joined in the festivities.
Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha, Datuk T. Murugiah Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, and Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi were among the notable guests present.
