Former company director charged with cheating

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 – A former director of Ganad Media Sdn Bhd pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to cheating a manager of an advertising company, involving more than RM185,000, about nine years ago.

Cho Sing Koo, 58, is alleged to have cheated Loh Mun Sum, 47, the manager of EMG Advertising (Indo-China) Sdn Bhd, by deceiving him into believing that Ultra Aspirations Sdn Bhd was a subsidiary of Ganad Media Sdn Bhd.

This had induced Loh to hand over a cheque for RM185,556.63 to Cho for the purchase of 28 advertisement posters from Ultra Aspirations.

Judge S.M Koomathy Suppiah set bail at RM10,000 in one surety and fixed Nov 17 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Hamidi Mohd Noh prosecuted while Cho was represented by lawyer Harcharanjit Singh. – Bernama
