KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein called the Malaysian citizenship the highest form of gift awarded by the government, saying it was not a right that can be claimed by any party.
He said although the ministry’s key performance indicator (KPI) is to hasten delayed citizenship applications, it did not mean every application would be approved.
“The ministry would only deliberate applications that have fulfilled all the required conditions set under the constitution, and applicants have to go through a rigorous process to ensure only those qualified will be given citizenship,” he told Parliament.
In replying to Kanowit MP Aaron Ago Anak Dagang , Hishammuddin said the ministry has received 3,640 application from those born in Malaysia for citizenship from 2000 to 2006, but only 1,066 application were approved while 2,574 were rejected.
Further, 1,806 applications were approved and 2,223 rejected from 4,029 foreigners applying for citizenship, he added.
In a press conference held later, Hishammuddin said he would announce the KPIs for every agency and department under his ministry next month.
“The KPI is to show that we are serious in delivering the prime minister’s message of performance now, where the people’s desire will be heard,” he said.

Is it sort of a prerequisite for Info and Home minister to be the most disoriented people amongst the thieves.
Sick and tired of his clueless logic!

Sure. From the statistics here you will see that more foreigners applicants were approved for citizenship than people who were actually born in Malaysia. Does this stupid minister know what he is talking? Look at the statistics. The rate of approval is so much higher for foreign applicants.
Applicants
Born in Malaysia - 3640, Approved - 1066 (29.3%), Rejected - 2574 (70.7%).
Foreigners - 4029, Approved - 1806 (44.8%), Rejected - 2223 ( 55.2%).
Is this what ONE MALAYSIA is all about? Idiotssssssssssssssssssssssss

What is Hisham saying? Does he mean that he, being the HOME MINISTER, is tasked with dishing out citizenship to Malaysians a gift? Wow, never heard of that in our entire lives.
Does that mean all other nations are giving out citizenship as gifts too?
Can someone well-versed with birth rights, justice and liberty in the context of the federal constitution enlighten us please? Does Hisham need to take a course in governance and public administration? Seems more likely that he needs to!

Detained 'Indian national' in Sabah says he's
Malaysian
According to the facts of the case according to the lawyers, Majid arrived in Sabah from India in 1983 and worked as a restaurant helper in Papar along the west coast, an hour's drive south of Kota Kinabalu.
Ten years later, in 1993, he applied for a Malaysian identity card (IC) through the district NRD office under the IC Projek Pedalaman (Interior Division IC Project).
It was not immediately clear what personal documents he used to apply for the Malaysian IC.

Hisham must be made responsible for creating and instilling fear, instability and tension among Malaysians.
The constitution gives unconditional rights and liberty to ALL Malaysians regardless of ethnicity. No one can question the rights to citizenship of any Malaysians. Certainly NOT Hisham and the likes of him!
Down with supremacy. The Constitution does not extent "Supremacy" to anyone. Leadership roles : YES; Supremacy : NO !!!

Up until now, he's still holding a RED Mykad albeit repeated visits/applications to the Registration Department. So the question is, how come an Indonesian lady who works here for 5 years can get a 'citizenship' while my uncle who has been staying here for FIFTY SEVEN (57) years since his birth been denied of his citizenship. Is it because he can't speak proper BM or can't answer some question about Malaysia or some building?

Well, Hisyamuddin's citizenship is probably a gift... because he's not contributing much except jokes... and not that funny, either.

You called this a gift ? UMNO standard for a minister.
