Murdered maid’s body sent home to Indonesia

SEPANG, Oct 31 – The body of Mantik Hani, the Indonesian maid who died on Monday following alleged physical abuse by her employer in Klang, was flown to Surabaya today.

A staff of the Indonesian embassy in Malaysia also went on the flight, which departed the KL International Airport at 8.15am, said Soneta Asmara, Third Secretary of the Information, Social and Culture Department at the embassy.

Mantik, who was 36, died at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang on Monday, six days after she was found to have been allegedly abused by her employer at a house in Taman Sentosa, also in Klang.

Sugarcane juice seller A. Murugan, 35, was charged in the Magistrate's Court yesterday with the murder of Mantik. – Bernama
