Maggot-ridden infant head found in dump site

KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 2 — A decomposed and maggot-covered newborn’s head was found at a waste disposal site in Kampung Banggol Permaisuri, Setiu here early today.

Terengganu CID chief ACP Mohd Fuzi Abduri said the remains were stumbled upon by a villager, who went there to throw his rubbish, at about 1am.

“It is believed that the abdomen of the baby could have been eaten by stray dogs. The newly born baby could have been left there one week ago,” he told reporters here today.

He said the police had arrested a 41-year-old housewife at 3.30am to help in the investigation into the case.

Mohd Fuzi said the woman had remarried her ex-husband one month ago. — Bernama
