KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — A scorned man attacked his ex-girlfriend with a knife after she rejected his love in an incident in Taman Samudera, Batu Caves, today.
In the 11am incident, the suspect, in his 30s, had visited the 27-year-old woman at her apartment in an attempt to coax her to accept him.
However, when the victim refused to reconcile, the suspect became angry and attacked her in the bedroom before fleeing, leaving the victim in pain.
“Police are investigating the motive and we have not dismissed the possibility that disappointment, anger and jealousy drove the suspect to do what he did. We are trying to ascertain his identity and an operation has been launched,” said Gombak police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Abdullah when contacted by Bernama.
He said they did not find the weapon used by the suspect in the attack in the dwelling or surrounding area.
It is learnt that the woman was sent to the Selayang Hospital by a neighbour after hearing her cries for help and that she received 12 stitches under her chin, neck and palms where she had been slashed. — Bernama
