KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 — Two senators, Heng Seai Kie and Datuk Azian Osman, were sworn in today for a second term before Dewan Negara deputy president Datuk Armani Mahiruddin.
Heng, 46, who is Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister, was appointed for a second term by the Perak state legislative assembly.
Azian, 50, who was appointed for the first term by the Perak assembly, was appointed for a second term by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
Heng, who is also Wanita MCA secretary-general and Perak Wanita MCA chief, holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and has served as a lecturer at the Ungku Omar Polytechnic in Ipoh.
Azian, who holds a Bachelor of Law honours degree from Universiti Malaya, worked as an advocate before venturing into politics and business.
He is also chairman of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad and a director of Perak Corporation Berhad. — Bernama
