PETALING JAYA, Nov 20 - Axed presidential council member Datuk Wee Ka Siong (picture) said today that there should not be any reason why fresh party elections should have to wait till March 2010 as “everything is ready for party elections.”
“I am glad to hear that Chua Soi Lek is agreeable to party elections. However I disagree with his proposal to have it in March next year.
“We have the central delegates’ list. Everything is ready. Why wait?” said Wee, who is MCA National Youth Chief.
According to Wee, fresh polls are needed urgently as the party is currently in a state of total chaos and everyone who is not favoured by MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat ends up being booted out from the presidential council.
“I do not see the need for delay simply because I am scared of having so many CC (Central Committee) and PC (Presidential Council) meetings in such short notices.
“Every time we have these meetings, there is sure to be someone who ends up getting axed,” exclaimed Wee, referring to what recently happened to him and Wanita MCA chief Datuk Paduka Chew Mei Fun.
MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said earlier today that he was in support of fresh party elections but not the Nov 28 EGM called by vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai for the same purpose.
Dr Chua had stated that March would be the best date as January and February would be the Chinese New Year holiday season but if the party wanted fresh polls using the new model of involving direct elections of the president, it would require constitutional amendments which would see elections happening only six to eight months down the road.
His rival Liow on the other hand has maintained that his ultimate goal was to push for fresh elections and if two-thirds of the central committee could be persuaded to resign en bloc, the EGM would then be called off.

Why don't Wee Ka Siong & Chew Mei Fun resigned first to show their sincerity? If he resigned immediately from Youth Post & She from Wanita Head then it is called sincerity & democracy. Since when the Majority must support Minority. Democracy or Authoritarian. Otherwise it is another Wayang Kulit by them. He is so afraid of being booted out from Cabinet after his act of betrayal to the President.

Are LTL, WKS and CMF the best that the Chinese have to show in MCA? What a shame to have these so called "leaders" of the Chinese community! By any standards, they should have been sacked long long time ago.
After OTK, reshuffle his CC lineup, those crooks openly shed crocodiles tears to win sympathy, but unfortunately they got none of that. The pathetic number who showed up in the protest in front of the MCA building is testimony of the support these crooks have.
Now CSL, is trying to flip flop by saying the reshuffle was a mistake in terms of PR, after the PM intervened, discarding public sentiments to try to accomodate these three again in MCA. If ever this happens, it just shows how weak the leaders in MCA are today. Flip flopping non stop. What OTK did was the correct thing, instead, now CSL is trying to accomodate the traitors.
Until and unless the leaders in MCA showed political will, leadership and strength, the circus in MCA will continue non stop. How can you trust leaders like LTL, WKS and CMF?????

If there is any fresh poll, it should be by all party members not just the delegates. Similarly, if there is any election in Youth or Wanita, all positions needs to be elected by members , not just the delegates.
So get this up first before you conduct any fresh poll, otherwise it will be back to square one.

Wee, you are a cry baby. Take the sacking with honour. The president deemed that you are unfit to be in the presidential council going forward. Whatever the reason is, it is OTK decision. If every decision that OTK made has to be approved by everybody then what is the point of having a President. Just create a new council to make all decisions for MCA. In that way, MCA will be headless because you cannot have too many heads in a party. Right now OTK is the head. Wait until the next EGM and then decide if you all want to keep him. Meanwhile, get off your high horse and start working effectively for the people. There is enough politiking already in MCA.

Talking about fairness. I suggest that MCA Youth and Wanita sections should call for fresh elections too and the Chiefs in bothe sections are embroiled in the present MCA impasse. They must be reasons to be booted out. Indiscipline, that is. The PC is the mechanism to implement the party policies and the President is correct to reshuffle the PC for it to be effective. LTL, WKS, CMF and the other lost souls refused to attend the GUP briefing and that was the last straw. Any sane president would have done the same. Now, he has got the cheek to demand when he should know that he belongs to the minority 10 CCMs!!
