PENANG, Nov 21 – Police today denied having issued a statement clearing the Penang government over the issue of state aid being presented to poor Muslims at a Chinese temple.
Penang CID chief SAC II Wan Abdullah Tunku Said said he never made such a statement to the media yesterday.
“I only said police recorded statements from the Penang Chief Minister and state executive councillor Phee Boon Poh pertaining to SMSes circulating in the state about government aid having been presented to poor Muslims at a Chinese temple.
“I never said I cleared the state government of any wrongdoing,” Wan Abdullah said in an SMS circulated to the media here today.
He was responding to a report in a local daily today which stated that police had cleared to state government of any wrongdoing in the matter. – Bernama

If the 'wrong-doing' is about the place of a Chinese Temple a whore house, then i concur with the Chief CID he should not close his eyes of accusing the STate Government of immorality! If only the Chinese temple is a taboo place for the Malay, the honourable Chief should come down from his high chair and spot check on his boys they are patronizing the Chinese temples daily for 'protection fees' from the many underground gambling dens in the outskirt villages, in the Chinese temples of Penang!
