KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 14 — The High Court will fix a hearing date for MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat's RM500 million defamation suit against his fellow Barisan Nasional (BN) colleague Datuk Tiong King Sing on Feb 24 next year.
High Court deputy registrar Norazlin Othman postponed the case management today after lawyers for both Ong and Tiong (picture) said their clients were not ready to file their affidavits yet.
Tiong, who is the head of the BN Backbenchers' Club (BNBBC) and Bintulu MP, had got into a highly-publicised quarrel with Ong over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal after the latter implicated his company Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB), which was the main contractor in the multi-billion ringgit project.
The KDSB boss claimed he had “donated” RM10 million to MCA through Ong in 2007 to help keep the party afloat.
Ong, the beleaguered chief of the BN's Chinese party, denied the claim.
