KLANG, Dec 15 — A stationery shop owner was charged in the Sessions Court here today, with voluntarily causing hurt to his Indonesian maid by pouring hot water on her hand last month.
Lim Boon Chong, 34, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial after the charge was read to him before judge Yong Zarida Sazali.
Lim was alleged to have committed the offence on Mujiah, 15, at No. 1, Jalan Kantan 6/KS6, Ambang Botanic, here at about 10am on Nov 1.
The charge, under Section 326 of the Penal Code, carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine and whipping, if convicted.
Yong Zarida allowed Lim bail of RM6,000 with one surety and fixed Jan 21 for re-mention of the case. — Bernama
