ANALYSIS
SEPT 26 — It is game over for Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
His 2010 transition plan was shredded by his deputy and the Umno Supreme Council today and he was presented with little choice but to accept the exit plan.
The plan calls for the Umno General Assembly and party elections to be postponed from December till March next year. Divisions will still meet from Oct 9 and nominate candidates for top positions in the party.
At a brief press conference after the Supreme Council meeting, Abdullah appeared to suggest as much that the 2010 plan had been dumped.
The Umno president said: "If we want to make it before 2010, it is not an issue."
He also added that he would make an announcement before Oct 9, when party divisions will meet to nominate their candidates for the party leadership.
One name not likely to be considered is Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. He is expected to announce that he will not defend his party president's position, possibly just after the Hari Raya holidays.
He will then stay on as party president and prime minister until March 2009. Presumably he will be given some time to complete some of the reforms he promised Malaysians and then be given a grand send off at the party assembly.
Party vice-president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who has been one of those pressuring Pak Lah to step down earlier, said after the meeting, that the postponement of the general assembly was effectively a new deadline for Abdullah to leave office.
The extension of his term of office until at least March will not remove the bitter feeling among Abdullah's supporters that he allowed himself to be outflanked by Najib and other supreme council members,
A day earlier, Najib told Abdullah that the party assembly and elections would be pushed back to June.
This morning, the two men met privately just before the Supreme Council meeting, and it became March.
Even though no words to the effect were uttered by the council, it is clear that they want Abdullah out sooner rather than later.

Perhaps there is only one man who has emerged to posses some of the pre-requisite quality of being a man to do the reform for the Nation - DSAI is the better man!!
Time given to AAB is definitely fall short for any so-called reform but merely a grace period, for him to do some tidy up of loose ends here and there, to ensure his retirement a peaceful and unperturbed one after the golden hand shake!

Now that I am contemplating on doing my Ph D, I am once again toying with the Peter Principle idea. And with no tongue-in-cheek pun in mind when I say this, our Prime Minister is a prime example for such a study. And what more, we are not looking at the collapse of a measly organization (Lehman Brothers immediately leaps to mind) but we're on standing on the very loose earth of an entire nation on the brink of seriously going under.
Suddenly, I am aware that I am on the threshold of a very important study here. Beyond the Peter Principle, there's also Darwin's 'survival of species' truism - that the weak will just have to give way for the strong - the prevalent law of the jungle, as it were. Only this time with one additional caveat, and that is, this weak one prefers to die a slow agonizing death.
Come on Pak Lah. If there's any dignity left in you, you should just stand up to the nation and declare that you have failed the rakyat in more ways than one. You have sought to reform this fair land of ours and cure it of some of the ills plaguing our well-being but you did not have enough Machiavelli in you to carry out your resolve. You were given that mandate and you blew it. And now the time has come to stand down like a true statesman and admit squarely that you didn't make it.
And guess what? Through all the lumbering days of your premiership, you have now suddenly earned the respect of every Malaysian if you will just stand down honourably.
Nevertheless, Sir, I thank you for having taken up the mantle when it was your turn. In your retirement, you can still do this country good by turning to your Hadhari ideals and do your utmost to promote goodwill, peace and harmony among all the races of this country.

I guess this PM was only a Pontius Pilate wiping his posterior on someone else’s face when he said the IGP and AG were trustworthy, the ISA was conferred on a journalist, an MP and whistle-blowers, his Buddy had powwows with sodomy practitioners while providing bodyguards and invisible immigration records for Mongolians, French submarines were competing in the Monsoon Cup, billions became a matter of zeroes, government contractors were being screwed for 300 ringgit a driver, flip-flop debuted as a national past-time, and UMNO re-invented itself as a Salvation Army for the really destitute and racially blind Malaysians.
Though he’s leaving us, let’s not forget to remember Pak Lah for our sleep-induced amnesia.

His end came when his beloved wife ENDON passed away. When she was around, all things were good. When she was gone, everything tumbled.
Now, he has to show that he is doing good before he moves on. Freeing RPK from ISA, duing the Holy Month of Ramadan should be his top priority plus releases all HINDRAF leaders.
The Malaysian Raakyat will all pray for his goodness then

Reforms? What reforms?
He was speaking about reforms since he got the post in 2004 but until now what reforms have he passed?
All this talk about reforms is just a sleight of hand to extend his term and based on his performance, he'll take till eternity to implement them, if at all!!
In the meantime, the country will be completely destroyed.
