KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been outfoxed. The soft belly of Pakatan Rakyat has been exposed.
No right-thinking Barisan Nasional state assemblymen or MPs will even contemplate crossing the political divide, not after what happened to Datuk Nasarudin Hashim in Perak.
The shoe is on the other foot and the Pakatan Rakyat states of Kedah, Penang and Selangor have to watch deserters from among its flock.
These are among the confetti of views being offered by political pundits and analysts in the wake of the surprising turn of events in Perak where the stage is set for Barisan Nasional to take control of the state assembly from Pakatan Rakyat.
With three Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers crossing over and with Bota assemblyman staying put, BN will have an advantage in the state legislature.
In the days ahead, a few more PKR assemblymen could swear allegiance to Umno. In a few days, an Umno man will step up and be sworn in as the new Mentri Besar of Perak.
And watching and savouring every moment will be Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He is not yet the party president and chairman of Barisan Nasional but he was able to do what Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was not able to do — force the collapse of a Pakatan Rakyat state government and put a halt to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's juggernaut.
Within Umno and the BN his standing will be high.
Remember the ruling party/coalition have been on the receiving end since March 8 2008. They were whipped in Permatang Pauh and stunned in Kuala Terengganu.
Gone was the swagger and when news broke that Nasarudin had joined PKR, it got people talking about the domino effect.
But instead of wilting, the cross-over brought out the political player in Najib.
His political operatives were given clear instructions: shake the Pakatan Rakyat tree in Perak vigorously until it breaks.
He knew there were fault lines, especially in PKR where two lawmakers are facing corruption charges and where politicians do not have the same ideological commitment as their friends in DAP and PAS.
Professor Shamsul Amri Baharuddin, a political commentator, noted: "This was a hands on project by Najib. Every statement and action was designed to cause a breach in Pakatan Rakyat. This is not only about Perak, the Opposition alliance have been shown to be vulnerable. People in Umno and BN will respect him more because they always want their leaders to be able to use their power and deliver results.''
In contrast, Abdullah also wanted to topple the Pakatan government in Perak but he was not willing to invest his own time or get his hands dirty.
Instead, he left the project to Perak Umno chief Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali, a leader in his own mould. For months there was talk of crossovers from PKR but nothing happened.
Now following the episode in Perak, there is speculation or at least a belief in Umno that several PKR lawmakers in Penang and Kedah could be poached, and that Anwar can be beaten at his own game.
At one level, this was about Najib the political player against Anwar the political player. Anwar made the first move but he was defeated because he forgot that the government of the day has many resources and in Najib, he has an adversary who is not afraid to do what it takes to achieve victory.
But how are the shenanigans of the past few days going to play out among the Malaysian public.
A recent poll by Merdeka Centre showed that Najib only had an approval rating of 41 per cent among a sampling of registered voters.
But as a senior Umno official told the Malaysian Insider: "The DPM needs to boost the confidence among his troops first. It is useless to talk about reforms if Umno and BN are dispirited. Can you imagine what will happen to Pakatan if another state falls to BN?''
Bet Najib and his political operatives are already targeting some vulnerable souls in PKR.

I suppose BN will win and take control of the DUN Perak. BN will be elated. Ha...Ha...Ha! Anwar, we beat you at your own game. Najib will be seen as a hero by UMNO and BN.
What is not winning Permatang Pauh, what is losing Kuala Terengganu. Nothing. Just two step backwards for a second wind AND NOW WE WON PERAK. Anwar, eat your heart out.
Najib will be seen as hero by UMNO and BN, big deal. It does not matter actually how Najib is seen by BN and UMNO. What matters most is how UMNO and BN is seen by the people.
Any change guys. I don't think so. They control the whole Malaysia except Kelantan right before GE12. Are we impressed? If we were, they would have full control now.
Discouraged? Not me, as losing is normal just as normal as fighting.

Najib may have won this present battle over Perak but the war to put BN to pasture is far from over.
The Rakyat must remain resolute to vote in the government it deserves to serve the Rakyat well.
When the next election comes, the Rakyat must stay on track or it will be back to the old back BN days all over again.

You do not have to be a genius to figure out his method of coercion - pure bribery with lots of money and threats if the bribery does not work.
And MI's writer would compliment such unacceptable standard of behaviour especially for people supposedly to represent us? Clearly something is wrong with the writer.
All these "YBs" or "Right Honourables" are obviously NOT honourable but low down crooks!
Either Sultan Azlan Shah enable the people vote in a fresh Election to kick out these dishonourable "gentlemen"and "lady", or be Sultan of a bunch of crooks.
If no fresh Elections are held and Perak is allowed to be hijacked by BN in such morally unacceptable manner, forget about Perak being a silver state. A tarnished silver state, more likely.
Let the people decide!

Just 11 days ago when the Bota Adun crossed over to PR, there were no strong comments like this one arise. If we are going to apply what Ari said, Pakatan rakyat should not in the first place to accept the defection by the Adun. Now, simple to say - Pakatan rakyat especially PKR is tasting its own medicine.

Now Najib might look like a jaguh kampong to his BN cronies basking on his 'coup', but the motion of non-reversal has started. Najib has sink so low that everybody (read 41%) will turn their back on BN.
Najib, you shouldn't have listen to your wife. This Perak imbroglio is a classic narrow-mindedness move - missing the woods for the trees..

His big plan was to seize power by enticing BN reps to cross over to pakatan.
His first big failure was Sept 16.
He then welcomed the first BN frog with open arms.
He now has no right to complain when BN beat him at his own game, big time.
Too bad the Rakyat got screwed.
Question is, is he a big enough man to admit he lost, and to Najib at that, and take responsibility for it?

When 1 frog jump over to PKR in Bota; big gathering at Bota for cross over
When 4 frogs jump over; none of them are in their elected area and at least 3 frogs are missing for few days with very low mentality excuses..
Please face our Rakyat.. the winner will still be Rakyat for coming day.

If we assume that money is THE motivating factor for crossovers, it is not surprising to note no one has crossed over to PR in the last 10 months for PR evidently lacks financial resources to tempt anyone. Conversely, the financial resources of BN is well known, having ruled Malaysia for more than 50 years.
What is interesting to note is that BN sympathisers are presently not enthusiastic about having snap polls or by-elections in Perak. They were all for it when DSAI was talking about Sept 16 though.

..........................................................................
Wonder who set them up in the first place? Remember how he met with Saiful before Anwar was charged? Najib is a real mastermind that even Pak Lah himself was done for without a fight.
Money is power and he is not afraid to use it to deliver results.
Former Perak Umno chief Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli Ghazali couldn't do it since Marsh 8 but how come Najib can it get it done in a month? Here lies the power of money politics which is not corruption in the eyes of UMNO. In fact he now becomes a great hero.

BN may seems winning by count of numbers albeit in a contemptible and underhanded ways, it has drag the whole nation into a dangerous path. It's a case of the end justified the mean. Instead of helping the Rayat face the economic crisis, the unscrupulous and unethical lawmakers seem more interested in protecting their own power base. The Rayat end up suffering. The Rayat deserves better respect than being manipulated ny these self-serving and self-centered lawmakers.
As mentioned, BN can win (steal / cheat will be a better word) the state by deceitful ways BUT not the hearts of the Rayat - that matters the most. The Rayat are not blind to what is happening. Come GE13, the Rayat - the People's Power , that tidal wave Tsunami will sweep BN into oblivion, if they still remain arrogant and corrupted. Have they forgotten the Rayat holds the keys?
Like in sports, you are only respected by winning in good sportmanship, not by bribing referees or any dubious ways. As a good and capable leader one must not be perceived in a negative light such as our present crop of politians, devoid of good ethics and high values, to be respected.
Winning the hearts of the Rayat is more important than winning a few poisonous frogs.

Tiap-tiap hari pun bercakap melompat and now sendiri sudah lompat dalam longkang besar so sudah kalah must accept and jangan lah.. tak puas hati!
Jika tak puas hati then lets Pakatan invite BN to start for another new game, so this time will be LOMPAT-LOMPAT TINGGI-TINGGI DAN LOMPAT-LOMPAT SAMPAI MATI sebab rakyat sudah fed-up and angry of you politicians!!!

Barisan National did not win the people's support to govern therefore it is only logical for the Sultan to approve the advice of the government to dissolve Parliament and call for a state general election. I stake my credibility to say that the Sultan will dissolve Parliament; and if that happens and I say it will, then this Perak General election is the last nail to seal the coffin of Barisan National. The momentum of this election will jet boost the victory for Pakatan in the coming Sarawak election and KAPUT UMNO, MCA, MIC ETC..

But when the fox got outfoxed, everybody is clamoring for blood, saying from unconstitutional to major bribery to killing democracy. Like a said before, there should be a provision that states any assemblymen or parliamentarians who wishes to hop to another party must relinquish the seat and allow the people to a new referendum. Stop the hopping from either side, there is no fast track to success, Najib and Anwar.

So yes, Najib beat Anwar on technicalities but the issue is, can he beat him on the larger issue? It does not look so since he is willing to live with corruption, winning the battle but lose the war on principle of money politics..

This picture will be forever remebereds by Malaysian what kind of learder we have. Ulter corrupt and shameless. People are not stupid. I have split my vote between PR and BN in the last election. What a stupid thing I did, all vote should go to the PR.
Najib might snatch Perak this time but He will become the last BN PM as predicted by the RAHMAN theory! People will vote them out next time. As the Chainese saying goes" Those who lose the heart of the people, will lose the empire!"

Recognising that Anwar got outplayed does not mean one opposes the need for change and reform.
It simply means one is able to face reality, instead of self-deception.
It is well known that BN has been playing dirty, ever since Sabah.
When Anwar announced his dream of Sept 16, he was declaring his intention of playing as dirty as BN. What kind of reforms is that?
With that, he lost the moral high ground. That does not mean BN has it ... just means both sides are unscrupulous at heart.
After the latest round, the only way that Anwar is different is that he FAILED in his crooked plan, whereas Najib succeeded in his crooked plan.
So, Malaysians are faced with a choice between a successful crook, and a failed crook. God help us.
