KOTA BARU, Nov 21 – Police have detained a man in connection with the abduction of a 11 year-old girl in Teluk Puteri, Pengkalan Chepa here yesterday.
Kelantan CID chief ACP Mazlan Lazim said the man, a 27-year-old ex-convict, was picked up in Padang Tembak here this afternoon.
“The case is being investigated from all angles,” he told Bernama here today.
According to the girl’s mother, Noraini Zakaria, 43, the man had abducted her daughter while she was looking for her siblings at a playground near their home.
She said the family lodged a police report on the child’s missing at 5pm the same day but at 10am today, her daughter was brought back and left behind near her home.
“My daughter related that she was brought to a shop selling ice before being brought to a house where there were two men and a woman. She said she was given food and drinks at the house. My family is very thankful our daughter is safe,” she said.
The girl was subsequently sent for a medical check up at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II hospital here. – Bernama
