KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — US pop star Beyonce Knowles has postponed her "I am..." Kuala Lumpur concert this Sunday to an unspecified date, disappointing her legion of Malaysian fans for the second time in as many years.
Beyonce had called off her concert in Malaysia in October 2007 after protests from Malaysia's conservative Islamist party PAS. The PAS Youth had again protested the latest concert but the government had given it the green-light as long as the sexy singer dressed up.
Organisers Marctensia Sdn Bhd said the official postponement statement by Beyonce’s Artiste Management, Music World would be released by this week.
“The postponement is solely the decision of the Artiste and has nothing to do with other external reasons. The Organisers sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Marctensia said in a statement.
Marctensia said fans with tickets for the concert in Bukit Jalil but who wanted refunds can get their refunds between Oct 26 and Nov 14 at Ticket Axcess head office in Petaling Jaya. But it said the tickets will be valid for the new concert date.
For more details on ticket refund, fans can contact the official ticketing agent Axcess through its hotline 03 7711 5000 or go to www.axcess.com.my
