GAZA, Dec 12 — Israeli army fire killed a Palestinian man in the central Gaza Strip today, Palestinian medical workers said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said a cross-border exchange of fire erupted after gunmen opened fire at soldiers patrolling the Israel-Gaza frontier.

She gave no further details.

Palestinians identified the man as farmer Sami Abu Khousa. — Reuters
