Raja Nazrin ends speech, assembly adjourns

UPDATED 4.30pm

By Adib Zalkapli and Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani

IPOH, May 7 — After a morning of confusion followed by scuffles, order restored and PR Speaker V. Sivakumar removed and replaced by BN's Datuk R. Ganesan, the Regent of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah finally opened today's sitting of the Perak State Assembly.

Ganesan adjourned the sitting sine die after Raja Nazrin's royal address that touched on the economy, religion and even the swine flu outbreak.

Batu MP Tian Chua was also arrested by police after the assembly ended.

The Perak Regent had earlier entered the chamber at 3pm, five hours late, and spoke to ousted Pakatan Rakyat MB Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin and the DAP's Datuk Ngeh Khoo Ham before starting his address. Nizar had requested the police to leave the chamber and later told all Pakatan lawmakers to take their seat.

BN Mentri Besar Datuk Zambry Abd Kadir earlier tabled a motion inviting Raja Nasrin to open the sitting of the state assembly.

The rival assemblymen had earlier continued their shouting match even as Sivakumar was taken out of the assembly hall. PR assemblymen shouted at the police to leave the House when they moved in.

Scuffles had broken out prior to this as PR assemblymen tried to get Barisan Nasional-installed speaker Ganesan to leave the House, at one point almost getting him entangled in the microphone wires.

The lawmakers were engaged in a shoving match as Ganesan attempted to take the Speaker’s chair while the Sivakumar refused to vacate his seat.

Sivakumar attempted to reconvene proceedings but the situation descended into pandemonium with lawmakers on the verge of coming to blows.

While both BN and PR still claim to be the legitimate government, there is now also two assembly speakers after Ganesan took his oath as the new Speaker in a corner of the hall following Deputy Speaker Hee Yit Foong’s “removal” of Sivakumar. Earlier, Sivakumar had refused to vacate the Speaker’s seat while Ganesan presided over the sitting of BN assemblymen from his corner.

Sivakumar has also announced that he had written a letter dated yesterday rejecting the tabling of all motions, including one to remove him and to install Ganesan as his replacement.

The PR-appointed Speaker also pointed out that Raja Nazrin Shah had not yet declared open the sitting of the assembly.

At 11.30am, the assembly was “adjourned” for an hour by Ganesan, resulting in a respite to the shambolic proceedings with both BN and PR lawmakers taking their respective places.

This was after Sivakumar had again ordered  Zambry and several other BN lawmakers out of the assembly.

Zambry had also repeatedly tried to table a motion to remove the speaker, which Sivakumar has rejected repeatedly as well.

Sivakumar had refused to convene sitting of the assembly until Zambry and six other BN lawmakers whom he had suspended leave the hall.

With the streets outside turned into what the DAP’s Lim Kit Siang has called a “war zone,” the Perak state assembly convened earlier with Sivakumar asking Zambry and six other lawmakers to leave the hall, turning the assembly into a scene of chaos amid shouting and screaming.

Earlier, all other assemblymen arrived, with PR lawmakers seated at the government benches.

Outside, more than 20 people, including at least eight lawmakers, were arrested and scores others refused entry into the Perak State Secretariat as police locked down Ipoh city ahead of the controversial state assembly meeting.

Traffic was gridlocked as police rolled out barbed wire and mounted road blocks in a 500-metre radius from the building, allowing in only those with special passes and preventing hundreds of protesters clad in black T-shirts from the sitting to be opened by Raja Muda Raja Nazrin Shah.

"This has become a war zone. This is a national and international disgrace. Even when we have received official invites from the speaker, we are refused entry," Lim told reporters outside the restricted zone after his car was stopped from entry.

"It is most shameful and outrageous," the Ipoh Timur MP added. Beside him was Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran who was also not allowed into the complex. Kula's political secretary P. Sugumaran was earlier detained by police for refusing to leave the place.

PKR Wanita chief and Ampang MP Zuraida Kamarudin and DAP's Teratai (Selangor) assemblywoman Jenice Lee, Ayer Keroh's Khoo Poay Tiong (Malacca) and Bahau's Tey Kok Seong (Negri Sembilan) were also among those arrested. They were clad in black T-shirts and wore caps that said “Bubarkan DUN” or “Dissolve the State Assembly”, a key demand by the Pakatan Rakyat government toppled by Barisan Nasional in early February.

The electoral reform group Bersih, comprising opposition parties and some activists, urged Malaysians to wear back today, prompting police to arrest its spokesman Wong Chin Huat two days ago for sedition. The media studies lecturer is expected to be released from police remand tomorrow.

It is learnt that police have seized 200 black T-shirts emblazoned with the words “1BlackMalaysia” from a stall near a Kampung Manjoi surau where PAS supporters had earlier performed subuh or dawn prayers. Police had earlier warned against people gathering or wearing black.

They also shut down the roads around the state secretariat, causing traffic congestion in this normally sleepy capital city. Police said the roads will be reopened later in the day.

Ousted Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and his executive council together with backbenchers, equalling the Barisan Nasional numbers at 28, were taken with police escort to attend the sitting in the 59-seat assembly.

Three other lawmakers are independent after they walked out of Pakatan and precipated the imbroglio.

Sivakumar arrives at the state secretariat at 9.35am and gets a salute from the honour guard as he is escorted by assembly secretary Abdullah Antong Sabri.

He is followed by Zambry who also receives a salute as Sivakumar and Abdullah escort him.

Raja Nazrin Shah arrives at 9.45am and inspects the honour guard. Secretariat officials then allow lawmakers, special guests and journalists into the assembly hall.

Police yesterday set up roadblocks at the Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab-Jalan St John junction and near the Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman flyover.

They had obtained a court order to prevent illegal gatherings around the state secretariat and traffic police were on hand to divert traffic around the government sector in Ipoh.

“Under the Standing Orders, any motion brought more than 14 days must be tabled for the Dewan to be decided upon."

FROM ABOVE :

Zambry file the motion on the 29th April, let us count :
29/04 - 30/04 = 2 days
01/05-07/05 = 7 days
TOTAL = 9 DAYS

OK. Sivakumar you are still Speaker. EXPELL ALL THE BN ADUN FORM THE NEXT SITTING KERANA MENGHINA DEWAN. ACTION TO BE TAKEN ALSO TO ALL THE UNINVITED GUESS.

Why is our PM keeping quiet and not act as the head of the country?

Does he think by slipping his head into his turtle shell, problems will go away?

Let us hope for some divine intervention next, as such intervention will only happen when human lost his/her belief that something good will come. Now I can imagine Raja Nazrin persuading his father to dissolve the State Assembly, to avoid such chaos in the DUN to continue for years to come.

As usual, the Sultan's advice is like this, before the coup d'etat by the BN: "Allah will always be with His servants who are patient."

HRH please allow for the dissolution of the state assembly. It is time like this that HRH role is paramount important. Don't let this chaos carry on - the rakyat have enough. Please heard the rakyat's calls.
written by Killer, May 08, 2009
The bottom line is BN has the majority and have the right to rule Perak. They have obtained the HRH Sultan's consent to do so. Whether the HRH erred or not it is up to the court to decide. Obviously Pakatan supporters will claim so but I think the fairest solution is to let the court decide on that.

But again, the bottom line is that PR govt lost their majority and by clinging on to power with such desperation and violence is highly irresponsible. You either wait for the court's decision or the next GE. There is no justification to resort to hooliganism and threats to regain power.

You seems to forget that what the ex-speaker V. Sivakumar did. If Pakatan's fighting for democracy and rule of law, then how come the ex-speaker could make decisions like sacking a lawful MB, his exco or refuse to allow for assembly sitting or reject motions ? Is this democracy ala Pakatan or Thuggocracy ?

If someone refuses to vacate his seat and the sergeant-at-arms is violently prevented by the Pakatan goons, then there is nothing wrong the police to step in.

While I can understand's Pakatan's anger over their loss of power in Perak, these are part and parcel of politics. Switching parties (freedom of association) is also a part of democratic rights as recognised in liberal democracies in the West. Govts has tumbled due to defections before in other countries. So this is not unusual in a democractic society.

I would have been more sympathetic to Pakatan if they allowed the courts to decide and if they lose, leave it to the people to judge in the next election.

But their violent reaction only shows that they are fighting for self interests rather than the interests of the rakyat.

I guess one day when the citizen of malaysia who believe in real clean democracy..getting annoyed and fed up. Violent countermeasure will come in. Because they have lost their faith in the system.

Take a simple example of football match, imagine if the ref is flavor to one side and help them even on the most apparent wrong. what will happened? Well, sometime the player will start to fight, then maybe the fan get so annoy they can't help themself and join the riot. This is a simple example of how violent started, even with riot police station in football game...they will eventually outnumber.

Imagine how to have a fair fight when the system that is in flavor towards anyone who against the BN? I think many country history also having such thing going on. Look at our neighbors, look what happened to the citizen when they lost the hope with the country system. People take up arms and starts to fight it.

I hope my country do not have to go through such era. I hope the UMNO start to realize such things is possible to happened. Malaysian is also human. No different from other human. Once the violent action started, there will be no turning back.

UMNO, Najib, I who those in high position, if you read these, please realize and don't wait until it is too late to do anything. This is no way to run a country so call democracy. What umno did no different from those Regiment or some communist country. Please don't let our country to solve it with arms. Please give opposition a fair fight too. Umno cant always run a country forever and thats a facts. It is the matter how the party going down. Maybe going down through violent, where alot innocent people get caught(died) in the process, or by proper fair, clean, democracy system.

The choices is in your hand, whatever decided today will effect the future of Malaysia. I really hope our country wont end up in political conflict war.
Please dont.

Dear Readers,

We,undegraduates and many Malaysian students from Oxford, Cambridge, Uni-London and other reputable universities in UK and Europe have been reading and viewing live news via internet the injustice and lawlessness in Perak Assembly today. We, Malaysians felt ashamed and blamed the greedy corrupted politicians for causing a war zone in Silver state in Malaysia.

The legitimate Perak government and the Speaker voted by all Perakians are booted out and dragged out from the Perak Assembly and whatever National Front(BN) did was "illegal and unconstitutional" accordingly to the Perak Constitutions, Federal Constitutions and the Law of the Land in Malaysia.

Today May 7, 2009 marked the "1Black Malaysia" and the injustice in Malaysia.

The entire British people and international communities read this "Tearing RM Ringgit notes" article with shocked and disgraceful by the act of the Perak deputy speaker Hee Yit Foong, who is now a BN-friendly independent as reported in the local media i.e. The STAR , Malaysiakini and Malaysia Insider.

As we read in the Malaysiakini report at 12.45pm stated: The situation turns ugly in the House. Pakatan rep Thomas Su (Pasir Pinji) ridicules Hee by offering her RM50 and shouting 'Go and die' in Cantonese.Following this, another Pakatan rep Yew Tian Hoe (Aulong) throws two RM1 notes at the deputy speaker, prompting a vexed Hee to pick up the notes and tear them to pieces. Other reps - from both sides of the divide - are recording the happenings in the House with their handphones.

We, Malaysians understand that the assemblywoman, Hee Yit Foong has committed a serious crime or treason by tearing RM50 and RM1 Ringgit notes comprised the portrait of Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and also the legal tender of the Malaysia currency. Isn’t tearing money or defacing our Malaysia ringgit currency notes an act of sedition in that the face of Malaysia sovereign is printed on it? Furthermore, this lawmaker, Hee has broke the law of Malaysia under Sedition Act for tearing up good Malaysian Ringgit in front of all lawmakers in Perak Assembly and the incident was recorded cum reported by the media worldwide.

We, Malaysians and international communities know that tearing or defacing the legal tender currency note of a country sovereign is definitely an offence & a serious crime. The offender should be punished by a heavy penalty of imprisonment and fine if convicted. If the Malaysia government fails to charge the offender / law breaker as recorded and reported in Perak Assembly today. Then, it is definitely sending a wrong signal to the international communities and global financial markets to reject the legal tender of the ringgit notes from Malaysia since the Perak lawmaker has torn the ringgit notes by way of rejecting the legal tender of RM notes in Perak state assembly of Malaysia.

We plead and propose that all rightful Malaysians, NGOs, Bar Council members, political parties, business associations and the Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM)governor should make a serious police report on her when time permits. Nobody is above the law to deface or tear the legal tender Ringgit currency in front of both ruling and opposition lawmakers in Malaysia !

We hope the new PM , the police (PDRM), the AG and the lawmakers will take firm action against her, the offender who deface and tear the legal tender Ringgit notes without fear and favour as well as no bias decision. The Perak lawmaker, Hee has acted in a barbaric manner to tear the RM50 and RM1 notes without respect of the Malaysia sovereign and no excuses from her to voice out that she acted in self defence, unsounded mind and anger over her opposition members intimidation during chaos in Perak assembly. She is a Deputy Speaker of Perak assembly and a lawmaker in Perak should understand the standing orders and Malaysia law well.

We hope that the new PM, Najib will keep his promise of "1Malaysia, People First and Performance Now" will not silence over this disgraceful and shameful act of tearing RM notes in the Perak Assembly in front of all Perak lawmakers, all Malaysians reading and viewing the event and the international communities cum media covering the Perak Assembly today. We also hope Najib will release all arrested people and the activists to keep his slogan alive!

Otherwise, the slogan of "1Black Malaysia, Democracy First, Election Now" is the best motto for all Malaysians today.

Terima kasih // Thank you

Regards,

All Malaysian Undergraduates & Students

So sick with BN tactics. No respect towards democracy at all. Why there even people vote for BN?
written by Malaysian, May 08, 2009

You still did not get it. You are the loser if you are a hardcore Pakatan or Barisan supporter. Relax and think. Make the ADUNs work for you. Boot them out the next time around if there are not working for you to improve on the State of Perak issues. You control your own destiny. Do not let either Pakatan or Barisan fool you. Cronyism, embezzlement or corruption exist on both side. You have seen both Pakatan and Barisan frogs hopping around. Right. Malaysia is not there yet on ethics. Do not trust the MPs or ADUNs blindly. Always check them out thoroughly on whatever they do. Get rid of them through the proper channels. There is no need for street demonstrations that drain our security resources and no need to imperil innocent life.

There were many MI comments that blindly uttered euphemism like 'Barisan Goons' or 'Pakatan Thugs'. You are emboldening them indiscriminately by being a fanatic party supporter. Vote for the best person who can do the right thing for you as oppose to the better party. If neither BN or PR has the right candidate, then vote for the right Independent candidate. This will immediately force both Barisan and Pakatan to field the right candidate. Then, petty issues like cronyism, playing ethnic-card, money-politics or gutter-politics will be gone forever.

Deadlock - Dead heat in Perak. Give them a chance. Have two MBs and two Speakers until GE13 so that Perak can move on. Perhaps, it is good because you have Check and Balance in the state of Perak. I still will not trust them as they all can collude with each other for their maximum personal gains. It remains for all of us to be on constant vigilant as MPs and ADUNs will be exploiting the major transformation in Malaysia. Let not the blogger-Twitter-Facebook-Flickr-RestAndRecreation generation come in to destroy our nation's institutions that took years to build.

Let me remind you on what my friend who has clients from both Pakatan and Barisan MP-ADUN said. Both Pakatan and Barisan MP-ADUN statements: Why do I care for the people who voted for me? I only pretend lah. I am there to get as much as possible. It is the chance to get as much as possible while I can. If I don't do it, others will do it lah. Wake up mate. That is the reality.

................

The standoff is not important. What is most important is human life. This is a real test for our law enforcement officers. It is best to remain neutral and tread the political quagmire adroitly. Do not use alats on the people of Malaysia as there are mere little pawns and Mat Rempits. We do not want Kent State or Tiananmen in Malaysia. This is the record that our police and the army should be proud of in spite of the propaganda.

To this day, I am still trying to search for the truth on 19690513. Could it be Gerakan, UMNO, DAP, MCA, MIC or Harun who had committed a national crime that has seriously damaged the psyche of many Malaysians? Our enforcement officers, the army and the police, did a remarkable job in extreme difficult circumstances without fear or favour during 513.

If the Perak saga is out of control, both Pakatan and Barisan are guilty because both harness the energy of many innocent Malaysians on a mere political tussle. What about the idea of working together to resolve the impasse? Do not get the innocent people involved. It is not that hard because as a little boy, I could do it then with my peers.

The ADUNs were elected to work for the people of Perak. Please resign or get out of the State Assembly if you do start to work on the many issues that confront the state of Perak. If it is for power, ego, self-interest, wealth, embezzlement or corruption, then the people of Malaysia do not want you.

Rergardless of whatever political beliefs they follow, today is another sad day for all Perakians except those with 'aku tak pedulisme' type of thinking. I am pretty sure that in principle they did not cast their votes during the election just to let this political deadlock to happen. But my heart still wonders that all the political uncertainties happening in Perak today would have not happened in the first place if the BN did not grab the power from the democratically-elected PR Government. Again, to unlock this never-ending deadlock, letting all Perakians to choose their own government is the way to go.

It is with a tremendous feel of shame that I am reading what is going on in Perak. Is there so much greed that the powers that be cannot see the light of what has been happening?? This to and fro of suing and counter-suing, pulling the Royal family without even thinking of the consequences has pulled the country into the gutters of politics.

How can we expect other countries to want to trade with us in any way? Or is it " I don't care about the world as long as I am OK!" It is sad but I believe the BN have walked into their own "jerat" and now can only await the next elections and enjoy their pensions.

It also takes no genius to know that they have but 3 years (and lets pray for much shorter) to rape, beat and torture the country.

The Silvery State Is Tainted by Hooliganism
written by billauchris, May 07, 2009
7 May 2009 must be the darkest day in Perak. It is the day when lawlessness and hooliganism invaded and pervaded its Legislative Assembly How could the Police be alowed to be blatantly dictated by the Executive Branch of the Government to destroy the sanctity of the DUN? How could they be involved to physically remove the Speaker from his lawful Chair to which he was lawfully appointed. The action of the Police was most unbecoming and most undemocratic.
Perak has turned into a demo-crazy State in which all those BN shameless and lawless "lawmakers" involved in the removal of the Speaker should be ashamed of themselves. They must all be held in contempt of the State Assembly and sacked. Can they still have the bloody face to meet with the Perak Royalty?

The Perak Sultan has now the valid reason to remove all these BN ruffians and rogues from the State Assembly, dissolve it with immediate effect and call for a fresh election for his subjects to determine who they want to rule the State.

It is sad and most unfortunate that such an uncalled-for plan of action or incident was ever contemplated or machinated by the BN "Mat Rempits". How can the rakyat ever respect them and trust them to protect, fight for and preserve their basic human rights and general welfare?

The rakyat have had enough of these unscrupulous power grabbers since February this year. Let this dirty and gutter politics be rid of from my motherland to which I hold dear and of which I am most proud until these power-crazy law-breakers came along to defile and usurp the State from PR.

Tuanku, the people of Perak sincerely appeal to you at this darkness hour in concert to restore peace order and harmony in your State. Let dignity, sanity and sanctity be brought back into your State Legislature and ensure that there shall be no undue interference and violation of any form in the future which saw the collapse of democracy and the State Government in Perak. Let the Rule of Law flourish in your State.

For peace, I shall continue to pray for divine intervention. Amen

Man does not live on "peace and stability" alone!
written by Antares, May 07, 2009
KLine said: "Malaysians want peace and stability." But "peace and stability" without freedom and justice are meaningless. It is akin to agreeing to be kept in cage like a zoo animal because you will be fed regularly and kept safe behind bars. Sad to see such shallow-mindedness in our midst. Our only hope is that reactionary Malaysians who think like KLine are in a declining minority. The obscene use of SB thugs to forcefully remove elected Speaker A. Sivakumar from the Assembly will never be forgotten. Now it is patently clear to everybody that the Umno/BN regime is no better than a mafia run by corporate plutocrats and morally degenerate hereditary rulers.

What a sham assembly sitting. MB is a pirate. The legitimate speaker has been kidnapped and has been replaced by an imposter.

Every wrong has been committed in the assembly. Sergeant at arm was biadap for insubordination.

Assembly secretary is biadap, acting against the instruction of the legitimate Speaker-Sivakumar.

The police. What business has the police when the speaker did not give them permission to be in the assembly. They kidnapped the legitimate speaker in front of everyone in the assembly and put in an imposter.

Yet, we have the so called learned addressing this sham sitting of the Perak State assembly.

written by francis ngu, May 07, 2009
A coup in a legislative hall to herald the age of 1Malaysia. Only in OneMalaysiaBolehland ala UMNO/BN, can police enter a legislative hall to remove a Speaker. Does anyone remember something like this in living memory ?

The fall-out will radiate well beyond the battle-scarred walls of the legislature. The immediate casualty is the 1Malaysia concept, about which there is little left to debate further.

Will some good citizen refer this episode to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, which I hope we are still member.

Perak fiasco
written by Simon Teoh, May 07, 2009
I am a perakian and like the MAJORITY in Perak, had voted for the Pakatan Rakyat to govern the state. I sympathise with PR govt and like most other Perak voters are very angry with the 3 ADUNS who switched camps to BN. They will pay the price in the next election. But until then, it is what it is.

Although the PR ADUN have some technicalities on their side for now due to the undue haste that the BN has taken to appoint YB Zambry as MB, they are nothing more than technicalities.

At the end of day, the accepted practice is the coalition/party with the most votes in the Assembly will govern. I think no one can deny this. You can suspend X,Y,Z but that is just temporal. Go to the courts to arbitrate will not achieve much and again the remedy, if any, will be temporal.

The best solution is the dissolution of the assembly for fresh elections but that is the perogative of His Highness the Sultan, who will have to live with his decision.

Thus, the next best solution is for PR to have the patience and strength to wait until the next General Election (GE) to win with a bigger majority. In the meantime, they should consolidate, continue to serve their constituents and find better candidates for the next GE who will not be tempted to jump ship midway.

As for the 3 and the double traitor: Good luck to your political career. Enjoy the little "benefits" you have while they last. They will end at the next poll. And may the MACC complete their investigations and hang to dry the guilty ones among you.

Biadap
written by Joebuddy, May 07, 2009
Are we becoming a police state?

Police biadap. What business have they to be in the Assembly Hall ( Remember when Karpal was manhandled in Parliament house, what did the dep IGP said?) and what business have they to remove the speaker, Siva from his chair. Are they not behaving like the snatch thieves which caused so many lives to be lost? They cannot catch the snatch thieves but they can remove the speaker.

All the civil servants connected with the Perak fiasco are biadap and that include those who directly and indirectly caused it.

A black day in Malaysia and Malaysians must not forget this episode in our country. Those who still harbour hope that UMNO/BN can still carry Malaysia, must now reflect seriously on your morality. We have to get rid of UMNO/BN once and for all.

written by Hashim, May 07, 2009
Nobody can claim they are right. Lets the law take its course and inaccordance with the constitutions. Its very strange to note that when PKR is forming the govt, they can do their business without interference but when the other party got the majority and have the right to form the government, they dont want to accept the defeat and try to hang to their powers. What sort of game is it? They want to follow the law of the jungle but claiming that they are already civilised.

Show of solidarity
written by Kapten Ciku , May 07, 2009
I have just came back to Ipoh recently and this morning work up at 6.30am to get ready to lend my support for the assembly. I hitch a bus at 7.00am since I cannot drive my car because of the lock down by the PDogRM.

From the bus station I walk all the way to the State Assembly about 3km since I have to find a path without the police roadblock. I was plesantly suprised that many have taken to walk all the way to the building to show solidarity even though it is locked down by the police.

The group of us about 20 (we only know each other while walking towards the States buliding) comprised of all races and we can actually sense good comaderie.

We saw a lot more ordinary folks at coffeshops surrounding the State bulidings who were there lending support.

Although during the hours we were harrased many times by the PDogRM, our spirit was never dampened. We know we are going there for a good cause i.e for democracy. I can sense a lot of unity and solidarity among stangers which cut across races, religions and social status. Many have come from afar taking leave from their busy career.

Ordinary folks together with Pakatan MPs was arrested for very trivial issue such as talking to the press or holding up the potriat of the DYMM Agung.

Rakyat wiil never succumb to the high handedness of the PDogRM and we will persevere. Mr Sivakumar, our Speaker you have earned your place in history by defying the crooks.

I will be going back to the State buildings after posting this comment.

Solution Staring At Our Faces: Fresh State Election
written by Meng Ong, May 07, 2009
I think the best solution for all of these is just to call for a fresh election in the whole state. Easy, but why are they so afraid to do it? The more they are trying to grab power, the uglier it is reflecting on the country.

So what if they "got" their power, they still look like losers. They might as well win the war with dignity. Let the real boss decide. Refer to the Rakyat for goodness sake!

Think of the country! The answer is staring at us in the face. Just call for a fresh election. Its as simple as that. And get the whole thing sorted out, so the people at Perak can move on. Stalling the economy in such a time like this is absurb.

Kenapa begitu susah sampai menimbulkan kekecuhan. Sebenarnya, semua ini tidak perlu sama sekali. Play by the Rules!
written by Fair Dinkum Malaysian, May 07, 2009
By all means, laws can be changed, if laws are deemed to be archaic. Laws are not cast in stone. But once the rules are established, understood and agreed upon, opposing teams are to play by the rules. Attempts by any team to change or refuse to abide by the rules during mid-play can be confusing and upsetting for players, supporters and stakeholders. It is no brainer to understand this basic rule of law. Would it be right for Manchester United or Barcelona by their own actions to change nor interpret the rules as they like? So also, would it be right for the appointed referee or linesmen to interpret the rules as they like? Everyone must abide by the established rules! Otherwise, chaos will reign in the football field, and if chaos should spread to rival supporters, it could even be tragic or catastrophic. Whichever team may be, if it feels aggrieved, it could always go to the governing UEFA body or ultimately FIFA for a decision, including a replay on neutral ground. Well, what lesson could there be for Malaysia’s highest court and rakyat in this high-stake political game or imbroglio for the greater good of the nation? Fair Dinkum Malaysian

100 police in the hall of assembly and Lim Kit Siang cannot enter WITH INVITATION of Speaker.

BN is all set to stage a coup of the Perak assembly. This assembly is a sham. Why is the need for the assembly when BN mafia gang can do what they want to do. They can just shout "we are taking the government, with or without the state assembly." I will not be surprised if Sivakumar is told to shut up throughout the entire sitting and everything will be decided and all motions are passed.

Pak Warisan will be darn happy to see that the power of the speaker is usurped, never mind the democratic process. Can we have a more ethical people like him in Malaysia? This is the kind of people that waste the natural resources and occupied air. Useless scum.

What a bloody disgrace! These actions by the police serving as lapdogs to their political masters is equal to the lowest scums of the earth. You cannot dampen the spirit of the people, justice will prevail and these UMNO goons will be history!

Since Ipoh is shutdown just for the assembly meeting, might as well all make it to the assembly and gather there for a holiday in black!

We seem to be in a police state. Cannot wear black, cannot mention or have pictures or even celebrate Altantuya's birthday, road blocks everywhere, cannot even go near- let alone attend the meeting of the Ipoh State Assembly although it is our right and the symbol of democracy.
Is this Najib's vision of 1Malaysia?
