Car sales agent charged with cheating
KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — A car sales agent pleaded not guilty in the magistrate’s court here today to a charge of cheating a sales officer of RM3,418 two months ago.
Tan Kuai Meng, 24, is charged with cheating Lee Kok Leng, 25, by making the latter believe that he could help him (Lee) sell his car and this prompted him (Lee) to hand over a cheque for RM3,418 to Tan.
The offence was allegedly committed at Scott Garden, Brickfields here at 3pm last March 31.
Tan faces a maximum jail term of 10 years with whipping and also a fine, if found guilty. — Bernama
