Penang police get RM5,000 bounty for finding killer thief
GEORGE TOWN, Aug 31 — Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth presented RM5,000 to Penang police here today as a reward for successfully tracking down the snatch thief who caused his 60-year-old woman victim’s death.
Its chief, Oh Tong Keong, said the wing had offered the money to anyone who could identify the culprit responsible for the death of Tan Kim Chuan at the Padang Tembak flat parking lot here on July 10.
“As leaders, we hold to every promise we make irrespective of whom we directed it to. Hence it is our unanimous decision to present it to the police even though we are aware it is their duty to solve the case,” he told reporters said after handing over the reward, which would be deposited into the police welfare fund, to state police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi. — Bernama
