The latest big screen redo of the Marvel superhero, Spider-Man aka Peter Parker, stars Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) in the title role and Rhys Ifans as his nemesis.

Attached to a new trailer is a 90-second scene featuring several cars careening off a bridge and Spider-Man’s frantic effort to save them and rescue a child trapped inside one of the dangling vehicles. Since American cinemas don’t play trailers longer than 2:30 minutes, this extra footage offers a good sense of the suspense-packed scenes.

The preview also features lots of impressive shots of Spider-Man flying between skyscrapers with his super web shooters, a slick insider’s high-tech laboratory footage, Peter Parker getting bit by the spider that gives him his powers, and a general idea of the storyline.

The much-anticipated film follows Parker as he discovers something that could help reveal the big shadow of his parents’ disappearance. In the meantime, Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner, delivers dire news.

The action fantasy adventure also costars Emma Stone (Crazy Stupid Love), Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire), Martin Sheen and Sally Field, and is directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer).

The Amazing Spider-Man hits theatres worldwide on July 3-6 release, after it debuts in India on June 29 and in Japan on June 30.
