The South Korean film “Oldboy” tells the story of a man who is set free after being held captive for 15 years.
In contrast with the Korean production, which was awarded the Grand Prize at the 2003 Cannes festival, Lee’s version will reportedly be more faithful to the original manga by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya: it will be less violent and incest-free.
Production is set to start this autumn, in Louisiana and New York. — AFP/Relaxnews
