Tech agenda: CTIA Wireless
NEW ORLEANS, May 7 — All things mobile, wireless, enterprise, retail, apps and social networking will be on show at this year’s CTIA Wireless in New Orleans. The event is also home to new device launches and cutting-edge examples of innovative mobile technology.

CTIA will host more than 1,000 exhibitors and over 40,000 spectators in 2012. The show covers wireless and converged communications, wireless broadband, mobile web computing and data industries, and in 2012 the focus is on "All things mobile." Companies will demo the latest in enterprise solutions, energy-saving products, and emerging mobile entertainment technology. While Mobile World Congress puts the emphasis on consumer devices, CTIA is all about the technologies that power them, including Location Based Services (LBS), Smart Energy, Wireless Health, Intelligent Transportation, Cloud Computing and Mobile Money.

5th Internet Week New York
New York City, New York
Internet Week is a citywide celebration of New York’s Web industry. Close to 200 events have been scheduled around the city bridging the fields of arts, technology, media, entertainment and social media. More than 45,000 people from around the world are expected to participate in talks, exhibits, panels and parties during the festival in 2012. The similarly themed Internet Week Europe takes place in November.

Formerly known as the Futuresonic festival, the FutureEverything festival is a wide-ranging event that includes "world premieres of astonishing artworks, an explosive city-wide music program, and visionary thinkers from around the world." It is considered to be one of the top international ideas festivals alongside TEDx, 99 per cent and South by Southwest. A host of satellite events and workshops will also take place around Manchester parallel to the festival.

11th CeBIT Australia
Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour
The Australian edition of the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event, CeBIT takes place annually in Sydney, Australia. CeBIT Australia is hailed as the country's largest ICT exhibition (but is only around a tenth of the size of its parent event, CeBIT in Hannover). CeBIT Australia is a focal point of an additional series of events (including Cloud, AusInnovate, eHealth, eGovernment, Mobile, Online Retail and Digital Workshops) that will run concurrently to the exhibition. More than 600 exhibitors and 30,000 delegates are expected to attend CeBIT Australia in 2012.

10th All Things Digital D10 Conference

The Wall Street Journal's All Things Digital D10 conference is a melting pot of technology, innovation and breaking news. The conference will see some of the most influential figures in media and technology discuss the changing face of the industry. This year’s speakers include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Skype CEO Tony Bates, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, Entrepreneur Sean Parker, Visa President John Partridge, Zynga CEO and Founder Mark Pincus and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. All Things D will also host the Asia D conference in Hong Kong in October.

Since 1995, the Electronic Entertainment Expo has grown into the largest US convention for the computer and video game industry. Companies from Nintendo to Sony come to E3 to unveil their new games and showcase the latest technology and software.

Taipei World Trade Centre
With 106,450 square meters of exhibition space, Computex Taipei (also known as the Taipei International Information Technology Show) is the largest computer exhibition in Asia, second in the world only to CeBIT in Germany. Many large computing firms have research and development centers or production factories in Taiwan and will launch their new products at the event. A full spectrum of products are set for launch during the event including tablets, e-readers, smartphones, 3D technology and cloud services. More than 120,000 visitors attended Computex in 2011 to see products and services from over 1,800 exhibitors.

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is the biggest annual event on every Mac enthusiast's calendar. The WWDC brings together software and hardware developers to present the latest Apple technologies and is typically a stage for Apple to announce major hardware and Mac OS X and iOS platform updates.

LeWeb — the biggest internet event in the European calendar — is crossing the channel from its home in Paris to host the inaugural London-based LeWeb. The theme of the conference is Faster Than Real Time and entrepreneurs, investors, the media, and technology buffs will travel from all over the world to find out more about Europe’s emerging technology, social media and startups. LeWeb Paris will be held December 4-6.

Google I/O is an intensive three-day event that focuses on development for Android, Google Chrome, Google APIs and open web technologies. In 2012 it will feature more than 110 talks on Android, Chrome, Google+ and App Engine, plus Code Labs, a Hackathon and Developer Hangouts (live video chats). The conference has already sold out but Google will stream the opening keynote and all key technical sessions live on the web. Catchup videos from all talks at I/O will also be available to watch after 24 hours. Similar developer events include Apple’s WWDC, BlackBerry World and Nokia World.
