10 deaths confirmed from Aceh quake
JAKARTA, April 14 — 10 deaths were reported in the aftermath of Wednesday’s 8.5-magnitude earthquake in Aceh. 12 were reported injured, four of them in serious condition.
Bernama Online reported that Indonesia’s disaster management body said the dead were elderly citizens aged from 62 to 88.
Aceh Besar recorded the largest number of casualties, with six dead. One death each was recorded in Padang Pariaman, Banda Aceh, Aceh Barat and Lhoksemauwe.
Two of the severely injured victims were from Aceh Besar, another in Aceh Selatan and a one child in Aceh Singkil, currently in critical condition.
