18 football players suspended for match-fixing

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 – Eighteen President Cup Malaysia (Under-20) football players have been given two-to-five-year suspensions for being involved in match-fixing in the M-League last season.

According to Star Online, the 18 players comprised six each from Negri Sembilan, T-Team ( T’ganu) and MP Muar.

One team’s President Cup coach has also been banned for life.

Football Association of Malaysia deputy president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah announced the decision today after chairing the exco meeting.
