60 detained ahead of Bersih
KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 — Dozens of individuals were reportedly detained by the police ahead of Bersih’s planned rally on July 9 here, the Associated Press reported today.
The global news agency quoted activists as saying that the authorities had detained about 60 people in various towns while some were distributing political leaflets yesterday.
Most were released after several hours of questioning, with the remainder expected to be released soon.
