Ahmad Maslan: 2.5pc of Felda IPO set aside for employees
KUALA TERENGGANU, June 10 — Felda staff are eligible for 2.5 per cent of shares in Felda Global Ventures Holding (FGVH), Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan said.
“Felda staff and settlers will receive 2.5 per cent shares in FGVH, but since the number of settlers was bigger than the number of staff, the shares received by the settlers will look smaller.
“We have 112,635 settlers, but only 23,000 staff, nationwide,” he told a press conference after attending a seminar on Understanding Wassatiyah and the Concept of 1 Malaysia here today.
Ahmad (picture) was commenting on a report that certain groups of settlers were dissatisfied with the proposed distribution of FGVH shares.
The proposed distribution of 800 units of FGVH shares worth RM4.55 per unit to the settlers were deemed too small and they wanted Felda to increase their shares to 1,000 units.
The deputy minister said he would table the proposal about the distribution of FGVH shares at the Parliament sitting tomorrow. — Bernama
