Bids for all ‘WWW’ plates, says Kong

KUALA LUMPUR, May 11 — The Road Transport Department (RTD) has received a total of 14,131 bids for vehicle registration numbers starting with alphabets “WWW” since bidding was opened to the public on April 30.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the total number of bids for “WWW” registrations, was the highest ever recorded.

Some 9,787 bids were received by the Wangsa Maju RTD, 1,592 at Bandar Seri Permaisuri RTD, Maju Junction RTD (602) and Pos RTD (2,150).

“All categories, included attractive ‘golden numbers’ and popular numbers have received high bids and hit the highest prices. In other words, there is no number that is available without bidding,” he said in a statement here today.

He noted that 2,000 bidding receipts would be issued today and next Monday before the closing deadline at noon on May 14.

“Bidding results will be announced on May 24,” he said. — Bernama
