Boyfriend of woman who threw newborn from flat sought
SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 — The police are looking for the boyfriend of a woman who was arrested on suspicion of throwing her newborn baby girl from an apartment in Petaling Jaya last Sunday, Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said today.
“So far, we have recorded statements from several individuals, including neighbours of the suspect,” he said when asked to comment on developments in the case.
It is believed that a 20-year-old factory worker hurled the baby out of a third-floor unit of the Desa Mentari apartments. The impact of the fall killed the infant.
The woman is being held under remand until September 23 while the case is being investigated for murder.
On another matter, Mohd Adnan said two reports had been received on the hoisting of the “Sang Saka Malaya” flag in Shah Alam and Banting in Selangor on September 14.
He said the cases were being investigated under Section 4 of the Sedition Act.
The flag first emerged during the “Janji Demokrasi” gathering at Dataran Merdeka on August 30, with the bearers purportedly claiming that it was a replacement for the national flag. — Bernama
