Break-in at home of Megat Junid’s widow

PETALING JAYA, July 18 — The home of Puan Sri Faizah Shuib, the widow of Tan Sri Megat Junid Megat Ayob, at No. 2, Jalan SS7/3 Kelana Jaya here was broken into early today, with losses estimated at RM50,000.

Petaling Jaya District police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said Faizah, 67, who was Megat Junid's first wife, and an Indonesian maid were sleeping in their respective rooms when three men broke into the house at about 5.40am.

He said the three men, believed to be Indonesians, had earlier tied up a security guard at the house before breaking into the premises.

“The suspects, wearing masks and armed with a cutter and screwdriver, then tied Faizah and ransacked the house before fleeing with Faizah’s belongings, including jewellery, worth RM50,000,” he told reporters at the scene today. — Bernama
