Catholic community in Malaysia must open hearts to dialogue: Maglin

September 18, 2010

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 – The Catholic community in Malaysia must keep their hearts open to dialogue with the goverment in addressing any problems, said Deputy Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz.

This was because through these dialogues, the goverment would have better understanding of the needs of the community, he said.

“No one will know our needs if we do not explain or tell them,” he said at the St Mary Catholic Society’s dinner in conjunction with its centenary celebration here today.

Maglin said the Catholic community in Malaysia was known as a caring, peace loving and progressive society.

He said in a multiracial and multi religious country like Malaysia, it took all positive traits in humans to create and live a peaceful and harmonious life just as what was encompassed in the 1 Malaysia concept.

“Hence, let us work together to achieve 1 Malaysia towards a better Malaysia for ourselves and for our future generations,” he added. – Bernama
