Chong Eu’s wife dies at 92

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — Toh Puan Goh Sing Yeng, the widow of former Penang Chief Minister Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu, died at her home in the island state this morning. She was 92.

Her son, Lim Chien Aun, was reported saying her death was due to old age.

Dr Lim was Penang chief minister for 21 years.

Dr Lim died on November 24 two years ago, aged 91, and was credited with transforming Penang from a declining port-city to an export-oriented manufacturing hub.

The couple are survived by their four children, Chien Aun, Lim Pao Lin, Lim Pao Yen and Lim Chien Cheng, four grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
