Cops appeal to public for info on ‘901’ blasts

Those who believe they are able to assist in the ongoing probe are asked to contact DSP Yahya Abdul Rahman, who is investigating the case, at 019-470 8946.

They may also call the city police operations room at 03-2146 0584/0585, or Bukit Aman operations centre at 03-2031 9999/03-2266 3444.

Yesterday, KL police chief Datuk Mohamad Salleh said the three bombs that blew up and hurt five people during Monday’s “Free Anwar” rally were made by those knowledgeable about explosives.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Ismail Omar also announced a RM10,000 reward for those who provided information that leads to the arrest of those responsible for Monday’s blasts.

Five men were slightly injured in three small blasts outside the Jalan Duta court complex here on Monday, right after Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was acquitted of a charge of sodomy.

The explosives were believed to have been planted in three traffic cones outside the courthouse.
