According to Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, statements will be taken from those present during the episode, including the judges.
“So far, we have recorded statements from two or three people and will be calling in more to assist our investigation,” Abdul Razak was quoted as saying by The Star today.
The imam in question, Hoslan Hussin, has also been told to provide his account.
“We have contacted him and he should be coming in sometime this week,” the police officer said.
According to Abdul Razak, Hoslan is being probed under Section 353 of the Penal Code, which covers the use of criminal intimidation to obstruct the duties of a public official.
The Malaysian Insider reported on Wednesday that Hoslan had aimed his shoes at three senior judges in the country’s highest court after they struck out his bid to challenge an eviction order from a Kuala Lumpur mosque here four years ago.
He stunned the judges, lawyers and members of the public that packed a courtroom at the Federal Court when he stood up, took off both his shoes and aimed the pair directly at the Bench.
The three-man bench including Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinuddin, Datuk Suriyadi Halim Omar and Datin Paduka Zaleha Zahari had then unexpectedly allowed the incident to go unpunished.
A representative of the Federal Court, however, subsequently lodged a police report here yesterday.
