Dewan Rakyat adjourns sine die

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 — The Third Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 12th Parliament adjourned sine die at 5pm today after sitting for 36 days.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia announced that the meeting adjournment might be the last before it would be dissolved for the 13th general election to be held.

The sitting was earlier scheduled to be held for 34 days until Nov 27, but was extended by two more days to enable the bills and government business to be settled.

The meeting which began on Sept 24 was followed by the tabling of the 2013 Budget by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who is also the Finance Minister, on Sept 28.

Apart from the 2013 Supply Bill, there were 13 other bills and two emergency motions, namely the condemnation of Israeli attack on the Palestinians in Gaza and on the film “Innocence of Muslims”, were passed during the current meeting. — Bernama
