‘Gerak Khas’ fan jailed for impersonating police officer
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — A die-hard fan of the television police drama series, “Gerak Khas”, was sentenced to a day’s jail by the Ampang magistrate’s court here today, for impersonating a police officer.
Marzuki Mohamed Ramli, 29, was also fined RM5,000 in default of six months’ jail.
Marzuki, who works in a college in KL, pleaded guilty to the charge.
He admitted impersonating a police inspector opposite the Crime Prevention Branch office at the Pandan Indah police station compound in Ampang at 7pm on July 29.
In mitigation, Marzuki told Magistrate Ayuni Izzati Sulaiman that he was an ardent fan of the “Gerak Khas” drama series and thus, was tempted to impersonate a police officer. — Bernama
