KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — PLUS Bhd reported heavy traffic at different parts of the North-South Expressway today, as the Hari Raya exodus began ahead of next week’s Aidilfitri holidays.

According to the tolled highway operator, congestion was reported between the Menora Tunnel and Sungai Perak in Perak as of 5pm today. Jams were also starting to form along the Tapah–Gopeng section, and at the Juru Toll Plaza in Penang.

City traffic was also reportedly heavy from Subang going towards Damansara, and from both Sungai Buloh and Sungai Besi to the city centre.

Southbound traffic is down to a crawl, with very heavy congestion reported from Kuala Lumpur to Seremban.

Motorists seeking to learn current traffic conditions along the NSE may contact PLUS via their 1800-88-0000 PLUSLine.

After a month of fasting, Muslims are expected to celebrate Aidilfitri this coming Tuesday.
