Hishammuddin: PAS green rally merely to counter Umno’s red wave
JITRA, June 2 — Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has described PAS’s “Green Rally To Putrajaya” at the Darul Aman stadium in Alor Star yesterday as a counter to Umno’s “red wave” rally on May 11 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
He said PAS’s approach to woo the young generation was no different from that of Umno’s red wave approach which saw more than 100,000 members rallying in red attire to celebrate the party’s 66th anniversary.
“PAS does not have the capital to draw the young and its green rally programme was an imitation of the programmes organised by Barisan Nasional (BN).
“But we shall see who is really sincere in serving the people,” he told reporters today after a “BN Choice of Young People” programme at the Darulaman Teachers Institute campus here.
On the programme, he said the endeavour ought to be continued and expanded to involve not only BN’s young members but also the young fence-sitters. — Bernama
