6P Programme ends on Jan 10

January 05, 2012

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 5 — The 6P legalisation programme for foreign workers and illegal immigrants will end on January 10.

The government feels the programme has gone on long enough, since October 10, to complete registration at eight centres nationwide, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong to Bernama Online.

The only exception will be for employers waiting for their employees’ documents/passports approvals from their embassies. They can deal directly with the centres past the date, if they have already registered.

Lee was speaking to media during his visit to the 6P Programme’s one-stop centre at the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry’s multi-purpose hall here today.

He stated that 133,156 foreign workers and illegal immigrants of 16,680 employers have been processed with Putrajaya Immigration department’s one stop centre processing the most — 118,457 workers engaged by 13,387 employers.
