It’s William, say police

SUBANG JAYA, Jan 28 — Police today confirmed that the boy whose body was found near the Kampung Sungai Sireh jetty in Port Klang is indeed William Yau Zhen Zhong.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Ramli said the DNA samples provided by William’s parents matched the specimen taken from body, which was found on Thursday.

“It is a preliminary report but it is enough to ascertain the body found was William’s.

“The body will be released to the family today for funeral arrangements,” he was quoted by The Star as telling a press conference at the district police headquarters here.

Yahaya also said a special task force had been formed to investigate the case.

“Full post-mortem results will be obtained in two weeks. We will investigate all inconsistencies raised in regards to statements by the parents and family members,” he was quoted as saying.

The report also said William’s parents arrived at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang around 10.20am to claim his body.

Earlier today, prayers for the boy were conducted at the spot in Sungai Sireh where the body was found.

The family will be taking the body to the Bukit Jelutong crematorium in Malacca.
