Kuantan police confirm foul play in elderly woman’s death
KUANTAN, July 13 — Police have confirmed that the woman who was found dead in her house in Lorong Alor Akar 30 here yesterday evening, was murdered.
According to Pahang CID chief SAC T. Narenasagaran, a post-mortem on the remains of Goh Eng Mooi, 60, by the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital this morning, found that she had been strangled.
“Police are still investigating the case,” he said when contacted by Bernama, here, today.
In the incident at 4pm, the victim was home alone while all her five children were at work.
Her son, in his 40s, discovered the incident when he returned home from work to take her to a specialist centre here for a routine examination.
“Preliminary investigations found the incident involved robbery when several items including two laptops, a cellphone and cash RM200 were missing,” Narenasagaran said.
He said police were still investigating to determine if the case involved more than one suspect. — Bernama
