Labourer beaten to death

August 10, 2012

HULU TERENGGANU, Aug 10 — A labourer was beaten to death by three men in a fight near a motorcycle workshop in Kampung Tajin Banggol here on Wednesday.

Initial police investigations have not ruled out revenge as a motive for the attack on 24-year-old Ahmad Tarminin Juhari.

The police have detained three suspects at their respective homes in Kampung Tajin and Kampung Gemuruh to facilitate investigations.

Terengganu police deputy chief Datuk Hamzah Mohd Jamil said that last Tuesday the victim had allegedly slapped one of three men during a drunken stupor about 1.30am.

“Infuriated, the man brought along two friends the following day to attack Ahmad Tarminin, using a hard object.

“The victim was then dragged by motorcycle for 700 metres before he was dumped in front of his house.

“Ahmad Tarminin’s mother sent him to the Hulu Terengganu Hospital before he was transferred to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital where he was confirmed dead about 9am,” he said. — Bernama
