Man caught helping self to truck engine
TEMERLOH, July 25 — Police arrested a man who was trying to steal a lorry engine from a workshop in Taman Bahagia, here, yesterday.
The 37-year-old former Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) driver, a father of three, is believed to have been unemployed since a year ago and had resorted to stealing to support himself and his family.
Temerloh CID chief, DSP R. Sundralingam said the break-in at the workshop by the suspect at 5.30am was detected by a security guard on duty.
“While placing the lorry engine worth RM3,000 in his vehicle parked beside the workshop, the guard nabbed him,” he said.
The suspect is being remanded for four days at the Temerloh police lock-up for investigation. — Bernama
