Man loses RM30,000 in car break-in

KUANTAN, June 29 — A contractor lost RM30,000 he had left in his Toyota Hilux after the vehicle that was parked in Taman Kerang, here, today.

Kuantan police chief ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusof said the victim, Mohd Sufi Ibrahim, 49, had locked his Toyota Hilux at the parking lot before leaving it.

“When he returned to his vehicle at about 2pm, he found the back screen had been smashed,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

He said Mohd Sufi found his three sling bags, one of which held three envelopes containing RM30,000 in cash and a cheque belonging to his company, missing.

He said the victim then lodged a report at the Kuantan district police headquarters.

Mohd Jasmani urged the public not to leave valuable items in their cars due to the common occurence of car break-ins. — Bernama
