Miri inspector, lance corporal nabbed over bribe
MIRI, Aug 2 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a police inspector and a lance corporal for allegedly soliciting and receiving a RM3,000 bribe from a businessman.
The suspects, aged 30 and 31, were arrested after receiving the money from a businessman as an inducement not to take action against him over misuse of subsidised diesel at a hotel here at 9.40pm yesterday, an MACC source told Bernama.
He said the duo, who were attached with the Miri General Operations Force, have been remanded. — Bernama
