Muhyiddin reminds Penang folk of BN’s contribution to state

June 16, 2012

GEORGE TOWN, June 16 — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today urged the people of Penang not to take lightly the contribution of the Barisan Nasional (BN) to the development of the state.

He said no one could deny that the development Penang had achieved was the result of the contribution of the federal and state governments when the BN was in power in the state.

“It is not my intention to boast about what the BN had achieved in Penang. This is just a reminder to the people on the contribution we have made to the state.

“The people must be presented with the correct understanding. The contribution of the federal government is really huge,” he told reporters after addressing a gathering of industrial workers here.

Not many countries of the world showed deep concern for the welfare of the people as the BN did, he said, adding that the BN distributed aid even to states administered by the opposition. — Bernama
