Mustapa lambasts ex-establishment recruits in PAS
Malaysia is the only country that gives its civil servants “the best”, said MustapaKOTA BARU, May 23 — Kelantan Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the recruitment of former government officers and celebrities by PAS for the purpose of preaching was a political ploy.
Mustapa, who is international trade and industry minister, said there were many other channels they could have used if they were genuinely interested in preaching, such as NGOs like Perkim or other bodies.
He said public servants who joined the opposition after retirement should always remember that they were never neglected by the government when they were in its service.
“Not only are they taken care of during their service, but even after retirement, as their pension allows them to lead a good life,” he told reporters after a meeting with civil servants and local leaders here last night.
No other country provided “the best” for its civil servants, he said, but added that the government respected their decision to join the opposition. — Bernama
