One suspect from deadly home invasion arrested

TEMERLOH, Sept 17 — The police have detained one of three people who allegedly stabbed a trader to death during a robbery in Kampung Baru Simpang Songsang here, three days ago.

The 40-year-old man was picked up at his house in Kuala Krau here about 12.30am today.

The suspect, believed to have been a former employee of the victim, Abdul Talib Yadin, 56, was remanded for seven days to facilitate investigations.

Temerloh acting police chief Supt Zundin Mahmod confirmed the arrest.

During the robbery about 2.30am, the victim’s wife, Siti Rohani Salleh, 48, was also attacked and slashed but she managed to escape.

She has been warded at the intensive care unit of the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital here for three stab wounds in the hip. — Bernama
