Only 2 post-mortems at HKL on July 9, Baharudin inquest told

Members of Baharudin Ahmad’s family with a photo of him. — file picKUALA LUMPUR, May 2 — The Coroner’s Court was told today that only two post-mortems were carried out at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) between 11.30pm on July 9, 2011 and 4am the following day.

Bernama Online reported assistant medical officer at the hospital’s Forensic Medical Department, Muhd Yunus Muhamad Nor, as saying the bodies were that of Baharudin Ahmad, the ex-soldier who died while participating in the Bersih rally for free and fair elections, and one Sulaiman Ramli.

He also told the inquest into Baharudin’s death that the post-mortem on the ex-soldier had commenced at 11.30pm on July 9 while that of Sulaiman’s body had taken place at 3.20am the following day.

Muhd Yunus confirmed to the court that he had prepared and sent a draft of the post-mortem on Sulaiman’s body to the morgue and that he had manned the hospital’s registration counter as part of his shift duties on the day in question.
