GEORGE TOWN, April 4 — Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today had an audience with the Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri to seek the dissolution of the state assembly tomorrow.

Lim arrived at Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas’ residence in Seri Mutiara at 9.30 this morning to seek his consent for the dissolution of the state assembly.

Lim met with the governor for about 30 minutes before leaving Seri Mutiara at about 10am.

Lim immediately rushed off to Kuala Lumpur after the meeting to attend a Pakatan Rakyat leadership council meeting.

He will call for a press conference at Komtar tomorrow to announce the dissolution of the state assembly.

The Penang state executive council met yesterday and agreed that the Penang state government should accept Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s written request to Lim to dissolve the state assembly to allow for a simultaneous 13th general election to be held at both state and federal levels.
